Yesterday we had finally a chance to drive in car you see around pretty much here in Chile: Samsung SM series.
Actually the samsung car division is 80% Renault (they bought it in the troubled period of South Korea in the nineties) so the car is virtually a Nissan/Infinity. Rather good.

The not so nice thing of this Unesco Heritage harbor city is that there are actually people living in those ruins...
When driving along the coast of Chile we came across the house (Ilsa Negra) of the late poet Pablo Neruda. It is now a museum and gives a overview of his Nobel prize winning work.
Just a couple of hours from Santiago the Andes mountain range starts. Here you will find its highest peaks. We went through the Maipo valley to find the famous Termas Valle de Colina. Luckily we rented a tough Toyota 4Runner from Avis otherwise the road conditions had forced us to return. It was a great adventures trip trough streams and over ice and snow. The reward was a warm bath in the hot spring high up in the mountains in the sun.
